IF YOU DRIVE: From out of town you’ll aim for Tacoma then Silverdale as you drive north on state highways 16 then 3. You’ll get to cross the majestic Tacoma Narrows bridge! There is a $5.50 toll (pay at the booth) on the return trip only.
IF YOU FLY: You’ll fly into SeaTac Airport. Alaska and Delta have hubs here and SeaTac is serviced by all other major airlines. You can reach Silverdale in a variety of ways from the airport.
KITSAP AIRPORTER: If you don’t plan on driving, this is the simplest transportation solution. The AIRPORTER will deliver you to the Silverdale Beach Hotel for $37, $19 for kids. Silverdale Beach Hotel is a two block walk to the Quality Inn.
WASHINGTON STATE FERRY: If you’re committed to hitching a ride on the iconic Washington State ferry system from Seattle to Bremerton, you’ll need to be a little more adventurous. You can hop on LINK light rail train to downtown Seattle ($3) and make the 10 minute walk (free) from the Pioneer Square Station to Colman Dock on the waterfront. The Seattle to Bremerton ferry is worth the $9.45 fare (Seniors $4.70). On the Bremerton side you can catch a Taxi, Uber or Lyft to the Silverdale Beach hotel.
TAXI: Harborside Taxi in Bremerton is the most economical taxi with a flat rate $117 for a one way trip for four. Due to business licensing issues, they pick up at the nearby Radisson Hotel (9 minute walk) and need a call 2 days in advance. 360-535-9804.
UBER: You can hook up with an Uber driver at the airport. Calculated fare today was $175.
LYFT: Lyft works too and rates today were $150-$165/4 passengers.
RENTAL CAR: Find your best deal for the size you want. An intermediate size car today was available on Kayak for $405 (Avis) for Wed-Sun. Turo ride share had a Ford Fusion for $136 total for the four days.
