Silverdale Whaling Days – Catch the local flavor!
Six block walk from the hotel Silverdale Waterfront Park. Whaling Days has food and street vendors, live entertainment, a road race, parade and the Rotary Duck Race. Friday night fireworks and a beer garden too! With luck there might even be whales (Orcas occasionally make it into Dyes Inlet)!

Old Mill Park – Take a Stroll!
Two block walk from the hotel to Kitsap County’s little Old Mill Park. Explore a little more of the beach and Dyes Inlet.

Clear Creek Trail – Take a Hike!
Walk from the hotel beach up the trail to the Old Mill Park then continue on the Clear Creek (a salmon stream) trail for a tour of this unique urban hike. Can you find the beaver dam? How about the wild blackberries that are in season for picking along the way?

Olympic Outdoor Center – Bike, Paddle, Play!
Explore Dyes Inlet in Silverdale by paddle-board and kayak right at the hotel on Saturday. Or make your own rental arrangements at other times during the weekend.

Puget Sound Navy Museum – Anchors Aweigh!
Check out this freebie and learn about the region’s economic engine and the pride of the west coast fleet from past to present. Visit the USS Turner Joy (admission) just a couple blocks away.

USS Turner Joy – Vietnam Era Destroyer
Check out this floating Navy museum. See where Phil Zarek bunked! Its just a couple blocks from the Puget Sound Navy Museum (free) just a couple blocks over. You’ll spend at 60-90 minutes on the boat.

Washington State Ferry – It’s a 1 Hour Cruise!
Experience the iconic Washington State Ferry trip to Seattle (1 hour ride). you might see an orca. Lots of waterfront attractions and dining. It’s just a few blocks to the Pike Street Market and the Seattle Aquarium on the waterfront. Uber to the Space Needle. Get an early start for most of the day fun.

Seattle Mariners – They’re a Hit?
Big league ball at T-Mobile Park! You’ll need to arrive early for the reunion to check out Major League Baseball. The Mariners are only in town before the reunion on Saturday/Sunday against Toronto and on Monday against Boston after the reunion.

Pike Street Market – Where Fish Fly!
Gotta check out this famed Seattle landmark, home of the amazing fresh farmers and seafood market with local everything from flowers, to crafts to the world renowned flying salmon! See if you can make a catch! Then ship one home for the barbecue!

US Naval Undersea Museum – Are You a Bubblehead?
Land, Sea, Air. Uh, Underwater? You can go there too at the Navy Undersea Museum. Take a DEEP dive and find out what a bubble head is! Spend an hour or two on your way to/from Poulsbo.

Poulsbo – Little Norway

So you like tanks and grenades?! Boom! The museum is on Joint Base Lewis McChord. You DON’T need a military ID but will need identification to be escorted on the base. See JBLM Website. Go Navy, Beat Army! Oh yeah, we did that!

McChord Air Museum – Go Navy, Beat Air Force!
So you head is in the sky!? Zoom! The museum is on Joint Base Lewis McChord too. You DON’T need a military ID but will need an “Enhanced” driver’s license or other government ID (passport) to access the base. See Website. Go Navy, Beat Air Force. Oh yeah, we did that too!

Olympic National Park – Hurricane Ridge
Rocky Mountain high? Hey, we get high here too! In Olympic National Park! Spectacular vistas right from the visitor center: mountain peaks, Puget Sound, critters. You can even see Canada too. Plan an early start and you can make the 1.7 mile hike to Hurricane Hill with our expert guide!
Hours: 10 AM – 6 PM Daily (Saturday/Sunday are crowded)

Whale Watching – That’s a Whopper!
There ain’t none of these in Raeville! Guaranteed whales (or free next trip for life!). Four hour tours and you won’t even need dramamine! See ’em before they’re extinct (or you are)!

Victoria, BC – Oh, Canada!
What? Visit another country while you’re in town? You could make it a day trip or spend a night or two visiting BRITISH Columbia! It’s 90 minutes to Port Angeles. A 90 minute ferry ride (whales anyone?) and you’re in another world! You MUST visit the world famous Butchart Gardens! You’ll need an enhanced US Driver’s License or a Passport to cross the border.
Hours: Blackball Ferry Departures – they offer overnight deals too.
Cost: $21 walk-on. They take US dollars most everywhere. And Credit Cards!
